Welcome to English II! The following guidelines will help you get started on the right foot and continue successfully throughout the school year. Please read them carefully and share them with your parents/guardians.

• Be Respectful - to your teacher, your fellow students and yourself.
• Be Safe - by keeping your hands and feet to yourself.

Assignments/Evaluations:
• Students will be given their points earned and the total points possible on each assignment. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of his/her grades throughout each nine weeks.
• The nine weeks grade will be determined by dividing the student’s points by the total possible points, and applying the percentage to the Sharon High School grading scale.
• Any questions about grades should be asked before or after school only, not during class.

Homework:
• All homework is due at the beginning of class in order to receive credit
• Late work will only be accepted under the circumstances outlined in the “Late Permit”
o You are permitted to submit three late assignments per semester, not to be redeemed on tests. If you properly complete the form and attach it to your late assignment, no points will be deducted. No late assignment will be accepted without a permit. Keep in mind that the work will still be evaluated and turning in poorly completed assignments will result in point deductions.
Make Up Work:
• You are responsible for all work missed when absent. See me the day you return for missed assignments.
• You will be given a time period equal to the number of days absent to complete missed assignments. Any work not made up during this time period will result in a ZERO.
• All make up work is to be completed before or after school, not during regular class time.
